In this installment of #The4thMovement we pay homage to the many colours of the African continent that have made South African music, particularly jazz, what is today.
We celebrate their indelible contribution with master Swati percussionist, Tlale Makhene, who has elevated music and mesmerised crowds across the globe for decades. With Swazi Gold, Makhene lays his heart to the fore, evoking an ascension of the enlightened, to borrow from his first album.
Swazi Gold is centred around the art of acknowledging the existence of the spiritual and physical masters that have paved and built Makhene’s life, and all of ours, both musically and as a person.
The music of Swazi Gold is heavily influenced by Makhene’s, a long spiritual-ancestral existence, and Mvelincanti.
