The4thMovement: Connecting Generations

The Orbit Jazz Club
Sat 17 March   /   R150 - R250

An important part of #The4thMovement is celebrating our greats while they are still alive both through the kind of music and the bands featured in anniversary festival.

The Orbit is excited to celebrate its anniversary with a band whose core objective is to do just this – Connecting Generations. Led by multi-talented and award-winning producer and pianist, Luyanda Madope, the group is one on of South Africa’s most versatile jazz ensembles.

Connecting Generations puts the spotlight on some of the country’s most iconic composers such as Feya Faku, Thandiswa Mazwai, McCoy Mrubata, and others. They do so by rearranging these artists’ music, and reinterpreting it within the new age context. This has meant including progressive elements while still respecting the essence of these great works.

“Gear up for an experience of love and fun. Be ready to clap, sing, and dance along to the rhythms of South African heritage with a twist!”

Join #The4thMovement and be part of the music revolution on Saturday, 17 March!
